Vittorio Sali received his BSc in Computer and Information Engineering (Curriculum: Telecommunications) from the University of Siena in 2024 with a thesis about "Creation of a dataset for the analysis of the metabolic profile of anthraquinone plants" supervised by Professor Monica Bianchini. He is currently working on his Master's Thesis research about "Backdoor attacks against VLMs" under the supervision of Professor Mauro Barni, with the extensive support of the VIPP Group members.
Vittorio Sali is writing a thesis on multimodal adversarial attacks targeting LLM/VLM systems. In particular, he is carrying out attacks based on training data poisoning aimed at inserting a dual-mode (image+text) backdoor in LLM/VLM systems that evaluate car damage for insurance damage assessment.
