Visual Information Processing and Protection Group
The PrintOut project offers the development of anti-counterfeiting technologies through the perspective of a senior attacker, using concepts of:
Computer Vision: to develop software that uses a smartphone camera to process artifacts in printed material belonging to counterfeit or genuine products.
Game Theory: to model strategies of attacker and defender, making the product authentication more focused on real-world situations.
Information Theory: used to format metrics and analyze data from counterfeited and genuine 2D barcodes.
Machine Learning: used to study descriptive data and discriminate counterfeited and genuine printed material.
Adversarial Machine Learning: used to model attacks against authentication techniques.
